Overview: How SLS 3D Printing Works?

The Basics of SLS 3D Printing:

Selective laser sintering (SLS) is an additive manufacturing technique that uses a laser as the power source to sinter powdered material (typically nylon or polyamide), aiming the laser automatically at points in space defined by a 3D model, binding the material together to create a solid structure. It is similar to selective laser melting; the two are instantiations of the same concept but differ in technical details.

TPU is an SLS flexible plastic material designed for weather resistance, flexibility, high strength, and wear resistance. It is suitable for assembly and fit checks, functional prototype testing, and low-volume end-use plastic parts, with selection based on the part geometry, load case, and finishing requirements.

Available Finishes

Default:

  • SLS parts are de-powdered with a sandblasting process and manual powder removal. Internal holes may be drilled to size if accessible. The finish is white matte (fine sugar-cube).
