Selective Laser Sintering(SLS)
Print your SLS parts with fast turnaround and wide variety of Nylon materials as fast as 2-3 days!
Overview: How SLS 3D Printing Works?
The Basics of SLS 3D Printing
Selective laser sintering (SLS) is an additive manufacturing technique that uses a laser as the power source to sinter powdered material (typically nylon or polyamide), aiming the laser automatically at points in space defined by a 3D model, binding the material together to create a solid structure. It is similar to selective laser melting; the two are instantiations of the same concept but differ in technical details.
Benefits of SLS 3D Printing
SLS 3D Printing Service uses production-grade nylon materials, resulting in durable, functional parts that last.
SLS printed parts rival other parts produced using traditional manufacturing methods.
The robustness of SLS makes this technology great for:Complex and durable production parts; Production and prototype parts that need to withstand high-heat environments or chemical exposure Impact-resistant parts.
Benefits of SLS 3D Printing With Unionfab
Unionfab has imported EOS equipment, as well as domestic nylon machines and materials with high cost performance to meet the needs of different customers.
Unionfab can provide customers with eight SLS 3D Printing materials, including SLS Nylon 11 (Black), SLS Nylon 11 (White), SLS Nylon 12 (White), SLS Nylon 12 (Black), Nylon 12 Glass-Filled (Black), Nylon 12 Glass-Filled (Offwhite), PA6GF and SLS TPU. At the same time, we jointly develop unique materials for aerospace, medical and other applications with partners to help our customers expand the application scope and depth of additive manufacturing.
Unionfab has a professional team of engineers and production capacity to provide more diversified, efficient and cost-effective SLS 3D printing solutions for different application scenarios of industrial customers.
Features of SLS 3D Printing
Advantages
Durability
Nylon is a durable material with great impact strength, medium flexibility, and high resistance to environmental factors.
Rapid Turnaround
Parts can typically be shipped in 3-4 days, allowing for faster design iterations and speed to market.
Parts Production
SLS is capable of producing end-use parts on-demand, increasing throughput.
Complex Geometry
Geometries can be built more easily due to the 3D printing process, adding complexity without additional cost.
Scalability
SLS can make a single part or component as easily as dozens of production pieces.
Precision
We use the latest generation of SLS technologies to meet tolerances of +/- 0.010” or +/- 0.002” per inch, whichever is greater. Please see our Manufacturing Standards for more details.
Drawbacks
Material Limits
You can expect more SLS materials coming soon!
Scale Effect
The unit cost and lead time will not be reduced as much as casted or molded parts.
